Welcome to Chobe Mopani Campsite – Botswana
Located on a wildlife -rich management area, Kasane Forest in a sublime setting bordering Zambezi National Park, and its uniqueness where four countries meet: Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe on the confluence of the two major river ,Chobe and the mighty Zambezi-its no surprise this is where Chobe Mopani Forest Lodge is situated. The unforgettable eco-lodge offers a secluded escape in the heart of the African bush where attention to detail and a passionate team invite guests to fall in love with the wilderness and witness nature’s displays of drama, serenity, and freedom in the heart of Africa. We have 20 ensuite standard rooms, 2 stand-alone ensuite Meru chalets, and 9 campsites with private showers and ablution blocks on an elevated deck.
Standard Rooms
There are 18 standard rooms with twin beds of extra length which can be combined into King size bed for a single or a double, all facing the waterhole . Each room has an overhead fan, an ensuite bathroom with a shower, a hand basin, and hot and cold water, mosquito nets, and insect repellent are all available
Meru Tents
There are 2 spacious luxurious meru tents with twin beds of extra length that can be combined into a king-size bed overlooking the waterhole. All are ensuite inclusive of shower, overhead fan and are equipped with a mini fridge and outdoor shower. Each Tent has its own private balcony overlooking the waterhole
Family Unit
Family unit (2 rooms with an inter-leading door one room with a bath tub and the other room with shower (1 twin & 1 king bed) both with private balconies and facing the water hole .
Campsite
9 camping units with private deck view, each campsite has its own 2 toilets, open star gazing shower with hot/cold water, kitchen wash-up facility ,laundry wash basin, braai stand, electricity point and free Wi-Fi by the main area.
The BOMA
Immerse yourself at the focal point of the lodge with comfortable camping chairs seating around fire and story telling with our attentive staff. This is the perfect place in the mornings and evenings to relax and start or end the day with binoculars at hand to take a closer look at any of the passers-by on “bush tv”. The fireplace is right closer to the waterhole on a deck and a photographing platform for star gazing and the ideal place to watch the sun rise and fall.
The Waterhole
You don’t even need to worry about missing a good sighting if you’re overcome by tiredness – the night watch will let you know by ringing a bell that chimes in your room: one for elephant, two for buffaloes, three for cats, and four for an unusual sighting. Fling on your dressing gown and slippers and trundle off to the viewing balcony to see Africa’s nocturnal creatures doing their thing.
The Campsite
At Chobe Mopani Forest Lodge we cater for self-drives, with nine isolated luxury camping sites with individual private camp ground each on raised under the shade of Mopani trees with a private verandah overlooking the surrounding bush. Seating on the platform high off the ground and each with its own open air hot/cold shower),toilet, basin, fire place, kitchen wash-up facility and all are connected with power where one can charge cameras or phones.
